We met up with Mike Wilson and Cath this morning for a walk around
Lindisfarne. Great to catch up and to talk about everyone else on the
PDML behind their backs. Especially that bastard Doug Brewer ;-)
I still haven't had time to really go through any of the photos I've
taken so far. I'll try to post some soon but despite the best of
intentions it may not happen till we get back to the States.
Then I'll have to act fast because the Grandfather Mountain Nature
Photography Weekend is coming up fast...

An excellent morning indeed.  Good company, good weather and unlimited and unexpurgated bitching.  What more could a chap want?  Although I don't remember it was Doug we were calling a bastard...

Well done on finishing what is a tough route at the best of times.  About 20 years ago, a Russian friend turned up to do about 12 miles of it wearing a blazer, slacks and ordinary shoes.  Because the weather was good and he was used to walking in the taiga, real hard going.  Then the weather turned argumentative.  Luckily I had foreseen this possibility from previous conversations, so I had brought extra suitable clothing. He still looked like a drowned rat at the end.

wait a sec. I'm reasonably certain my parents were married when they
found me.

Sorry. I'm still on Lindisfarne so I suppose you should be a "Scurvy
Dog" then? I can never keep these things straight.

Ah, yes. I sent that this morning. I must have been offline at the
time so it didn't go out until I checked in here. (I'm in London now.)

Looks like I'm the scurvy dog here.

Never mind. My brother recently informed me I'm also a "rat bastard"
after I showed him the bass guitar I bought recently. ;-)

Don’t fret.

The new one, in fact, does have frets. But I do have a fretless as
well.
