Yes, the signs are there!
Yesterday I saw a cormorant attacking a swan.
Of course, a swan is an enemy too large to handle, so the cormorant had
to change course.
But nevertheless...

Interesting image.
I know, from personal experience, that swans can be very ferocious.

I consider swans to be geese with a bad attitude.

That’s why cormorants use brass knuckles.

They do indeed. The seagulls in Dunkirk have trouble to find a streelamp
to sit on because of all the cormorants. No idea where they all come
from. 20 years ago, there were practically none at all.

I've had a pair of geese attacking me from behind again and again while
I was trying to take photos of a power station at the river Sambre in
Charleroi, Belgium. No nest, no little ones, no apparent reason other
than their claim to the place.
Eventually, a kid of some seven years came along, spread his arms, ran
towards them and off they fled into the river, protesting vociferously. :-)

Elsenet today we’ve been discussing the glory hole at the head of Putah creek and I stumbled across this video of a cormorant going into the glory hole.
