I was recently asked about my instagram account and realized that I
haven't updated it in about five years. I just went through my
collection of annual best of albums and uploaded most of those photos to
instagram:

I think most of them have been posted here over the years, but its kind
of an updated best of my best. Which ironically is exactly what
instagram isn't about, it's about sandwich posts, low quality photos
with filters and other inanity. The UI totally sucks, and while they've
loosened up the rules about aspect ratio a bit, it still sucks. Which
is why I just let it get so far behind.

Talking to family and friends about my photo activities I tell them I'm
on instagram and then they know how to find my pictures on their phone.
However, if I mention Flickr, most of them have never heard of this so
they loose interest.
For sharing of photo series of events with family and friends I'm using
Google Photos because it is so convenient.
