Not often a picture has me completely baffled but I have no idea what I'm looking at here. Anyone else any idea?

Assuming that it's a photo of something that exists, rather than just
computer generated graphics.
It looks like some sort of bits of plastic floating in water.
The coloring on them make them look like they are layered pink and white
and extruded into some sort of shapes not unlike plastic packing
peanuts.

It's titled 'Beans' but they don't look like individual items. Maybe it is just manipulated beyond recognition. But all of the photographer's other work seems to be real things.

She’s very heavy-handed with the manipulation tools in the other pictures, and it’s all in the worst possible taste, so my guess is that we’re looking at kidney beans cooking, and manipulated beyond human decency to the point where they’re only fit to decorate the White House.

As good a swag as any. Clearly multiple similar (if not identical) objects substantially modified in post. Not seen any answer yet that has given me an 'Aha!' moment. There's a cue for a line of puns if ever I saw one.
