The lake is called Mono Lake.

Thanks much! the jaggedy rock place is Mono Lake - on the east side of the Siarra Nevadas in California . The jagged rock things are tufa. The lake is very briny.
I had this gallery on my website that is only acccessible with link.. but all the photos I cropped from in their full frame views are on the site and most were once on PUG.. and they have titles - etc.
