After a very dry several weeks, we’ve had about 2in / 5cm of rain this weekend. When it let up a bit, the camera and I took a walk;

ok I chose lavish praise..   really, shooting in that light with
raindrops on the vegetation and a good eye adds up to lovely to look at.

One suggestion (which is to say what i'd do if it were mine) Id fiddle
with the perspecive on the first one so that the fence posts, gate posts
were corrected
to be vertical instead of dipping in att the bottom.. sort of like what
you would get if you had a tilt lens   or crop out the heavy one on the
left side.

I'd do an example for you but I'm really under the gun today
 with various important chores

Refreshing. So dry here already - we could do with some of that. I need
1mm to record a round 900mm for the season ending 30th June. Only twice
in the last 50 years has Phalaborwa exceeded 900mm for the season.
Normal is 530mm.

Thanks, Ann. I tried using the Transform slider in LR on it, and didn’t like the distortion of the blossoms.

So I tried cropping; I think it’s an improvement:

Alan,

I’m puzzled. You have 899mm for the season, normal is 530mm, but you say it is dry.

The last substantial fall was 38mm on 22nd March. Nothing in April/May
but the weather has remained warm to hot with many days still in the
30's so everything has dried out. The average total rainfall from May to
Aug over the last 10 years has been less than 10mm. Until the start of
the next rainy season in about Sept. it will be a case of just keeping
the garden alive by limited watering with potable water which is very
expensive. Most of the rain falls from mid-Oct. to mid-Mar. Sept. is the
best month for game viewing in Kruger because the trees have lost their
leaves and the game is forced to use the remaining low water drinking
spots. The "fall" occurs towards the end of the cooler weather just
before spring. Some tree species, notably the Mopanies, loose their old
leaves & grow new ones simultaneously.
