I would guess relationSHIPping is closer to the origin of this urban
expression than Longfellow's poem.

Interestingly (or not) the English Language expression "passing ships in
the night" referring to brief romantic interludes,
sounds like it originated with that definition of yours.

(Maybe I'm obsessed about taking pictures of butterflies.)
Certainly one of the more positive obsessions as long as you don't
neglect the mushroom pictures. :-)

If you don't have something topical you can still post an image for the
"open gallery".
Nothing wrong with that and it's a really fine image. I was just
wondering if, as we say here. I was standing on the hose.

Ralf - thank you for asking about Henk’s graphic/verbal puzzle! I was pleased to learn something new from his reply.

Thanks again Brian!
Several this month intrigued me. Ralf’s well seen signage, Henk’s fritillary courtship, Brian’s beautiful scene of a typical freighter…
John’s nice shot of his re-purposed shipping container got me wondering about our local zoning restrictions and if/how I could sneak such a container into the vacant lot across the street. But PT’s Banana Boat really got me going! It was so reminiscent of scenes we saw on the upper Amazon in 2018 that I immediately began kicking myself for not having thought of something like that for my own submission.
So I went into my archives for that period, found that I did NOT get a picture of the canoes loaded with food or goods to/from the market. Several nice shots of one or two guys motoring along in their transport canoes, but nothing that would have fit the theme. Chagrin that I did not think of looking earlier, relief that I did not miss a potential submission.
Meanwhile as I was typing this, my computer screensaver did its every-2 minute-image swap and I was presented with an image that would have been nice for next month. I’ve already submitted for December, and will put this second-thought image out as a PESO next month.

G'day all
A small gallery this month - see it here:
(you may need to refresh your browser if you see the previous gallery there).
Alan's submission is an innovative interpretation of the theme.... :-)

You're welcome. :-)
Moreover, it seems I woke them all up as there hadn't been a single
comment about the gallery until I did.
