A rare and special lens: A 50/1.2

The A 50/1.2 is to the best of my knowledge, the fastest of all the Pentax 50mm lenses. It’s also one of the sharpest wide open, within its very narrow DOF. That lends it to all manner or entertaining work, where one desires only a single point be in hard focus. This particular copy has been in the list family for decades. If memory serves me, I purchased it from Gianfranco and I believe he obtained it from another list member. I used it only twice, and each time carefully returned it to its original box, complete with packing and both original lens caps. As far as I can tell, it remains in like new condition. I think I paid $500 plus shipping for it some time ago. I’ll let it go for $400 plus shipping. My wife and I are moving to a smaller house and I have to clear out some of my photo equipment. Would love to see it stay in the list family. The below pics include a window light  portrait of my wife taken with the A 50/1.2 at f 1.2. I focused on her left eye, and it is critically sharp, although everything else is soft.

I have a 50/1.2 that I bought ($500 if IRC) severe years ago from some random eBayer. I will totally vouch for this lens’ quality and would jump for a chance to buy Paul’s if I didn’t already have a copy.

The A50/1.2 was my goto 50mm lens for decades. It's decently sharp wide
open, has nice bokeh and the fast aperture allows for good low light
viewfinder performance. By f/5.6 it's as good as anything out there.

It's also got the legendary Pentax flare resistance, which made it an
ideal lens for me at wedding receptions.

The only way to get a "better" 50mm Pentax lens is to drop the coin on
the DFA*50/1.4.

It'll probably be the best mistake I make all week.
