That’s a very nice set of photos, thanks. Very atmospheric.

Did you go over to Anglesey? We lived there for 2.5 years in the 60s. One of my memories of it is the way the trees were permanently bent by the wind.

Yes, we went to Anglesey. Even stopped for a pint in the pub where my father was born.
Right now I'm on my way ro Grandfather Mountain, another place where trees are permanently bent by the wind.

Wow, I didn’t realise you’re essentially from there. Where was he born?

We mostly lived on the base at RAF Valley, and went to school in Caergeiliog nearby. We also lived for a few months in a farm cottage call Swn Y Mor in the middle of nowhere surrounded by bent trees.

Our headmaster’s name was Harry Roberts, which caused a good deal of confusion when there was a long nationwide manhunt for a notorious criminal called Harry Roberts who’d shot dead three policemen.

My father was born in Gwalchmai (just about the center of Anglesey) and his family moved to Penmaenmawr when he was about 12 (and he had to start learning English). I remember visiting the area when we lived in Rugby and I was 5 years old (I thought that the spiral staircases in Conwy Castle were the coolest things ever).

Thanks, Larry.
I'll have a set from Grandfather Mountain after the Nature Photography Weekend is done!
