PESO: mushroom time

It is a busy time for me now to look at all species of mushrooms around
here in the woods and dunes.
Here a picture I made yesterday of honey fungi (Armillaria). This is a
focus stack of 7 shots merged in Affinity Photo and adjusted in Lightroom.

Wow! Have you tried bringing up the midtones, just a tad?

Thanks Ralf. The midtone slider of Color Grading didn't do much, so I
raised the exposure slider a litle bit, reduced the orange saturation
and put it back on Flickr.
In reality these mushrooms were very dark in the afternoon light prior
to the storm (Benjamin).

Henk, these are really lovely photos. There are far more than I could get through, though.

That's because you were trying to go through his whole photostream.  He
posted a link to one in the photostream, but it's possible to go from
that to everything that he has posted, pretty much all of which were
amazing.

Very nice set Henk! I went back through your collection to about a month ago…
I know little about fungi except what the vendor in the market tells me when I shop for something to put in my Sunday-morning omelet, and so I clearly was not concerned with how well acuratle=y portrayed the subject. I.e., I wasn’t judging which were most suited to be used in a guide book or text book. I just stopped at images that were pleasing to me...

I am not a flickr member and so cannot Star any of the images. Those that really stood out for me are:

Sulphur tuft IMGP0480
and IMGP9609

Porcelain fungus IMGP0168
Mycelia. IMGP9939
Riessula. IMGP9620
Megacollybla. IMGP9438
Lurid bolete. IMGP9345

Apologies if my transcription of the names is way off! However, any misnaming/mispelling I of course will blame on my spell checker.

That's a nice photo.  I should probably try focus stacking at some stage but I barely have time to even pick up a camera lately.

I've barely seen any spring mushrooms this year.  We've had a lot of warm dry weather recently.

Thanks all for looking and comments!
Focus stacking is so much easier with programs in modern mirrorless cameras.
Because none of the Pentax DSLRs have this I just do it manually with a
remote control for the shutter, hoping there is no change in camera
position.
