I went on a little 2 hour/23 mile ride yesterday, up a road called China Grade. It’s a fun road that goes from Hwy 236/Big Basin Way to Hwy 236, avoiding most of Big Basin state park. Unfortunately, a big chunk of the road is blocked off with a gate. 8 months later, the signs of the fire are very sobering, there is a whole lot of dead vegetation, as we enter into this year’s fire season, after a dry winter.
On the way, I stopped and took this photo of where a redwood had grown around some barbed wire:

More documentary than artistic. I just hope that these stay as “after” rather than becoming “before” photos.

I believe that those are trees marked for removal
https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/thousands-of-trees-damaged-in-czu-fires-being-cut-down/
I just asked on a local facebook group, because some of the things marked are old tree stumps. It might just be marking trees that have been checked.
