As discussed in this space, my wife’s K-70 has the dreaded aperture block problem.

Can anyone suggest a better (i.e. quicker and less expensive) repair outfit than Precision?

Apparently it isn't a difficult repair. The problem is finding a solenoid
that won't fail. Apparently  Pentax changed suppliers and the new units are
failure prone. My understanding is the new ones are one colour, I recall
white, and the old ones are green, though I might have it backwards.
If I'm not mistaken, even one from as far back as a Super Program will fit.

Peter,

Thanks. I came upon this site too. There are some positive comments on DPReview, but I have more confidence in reviews from a group of familiar people.
