some of the better photos of the birds of the desert national park.
some are record shots. some are more than record shots (barely).

An interesting collection of birds, all well photographed. I especially
like the wingspan display in # 21, and the scruffy guys in # 22.

By record you mean making a record of what you saw rather than setting a record?
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
comments welcome.
There are a few that I’d prefer cropped tighter, pictures of the birds rather than so much of the context. In any case I don’t think there are any in there that I’m not envious of you for getting. Good job.

Nice collection of photos of a variety of birds. #24 stands out to me.

From this set, I very much like #15 and #25. And of course #22, because who could pass over a picture of cute (?) chicks.
As others have noted, the hawk in #24 is quite nice, but I prefer #25 because of the out-of-focus greenery in the background.

Subash, your trip was obviously very worthwhile. I'm a bit surprised at
the abundance of birdlife in such a hostile environment but I suppose
there must be sufficient food & water. Glad you achieved your objective
with the Great Indian Bustard. I looked it up - the world's 2nd largest
Bustard after the Kori which we have in Kruger but I've only ever
spotted a few over many years. There is another large Bustard here too -
Stanley's, a bit smaller than yours, found on the Highveld.

he was using the KP, tokina atx 400/5.6 with the tamron 1.4x tc. he is
moving on to canon and probably will buy the 100-400 IS2 and the 90d (for
now). the good part is the tokina, which he had appropriated for himself,
will come back to me now. :)
comments appreciated,
thanks, subash
