SD recovery software recommendation?

I installed a new external hard drive, restored my files using Time Machine, and was crestfallen to find that (for some reason) the 170 photos I took in the Adirondacks were lost (the disk crash occurred as I was working on them in LR).

Alas I had already deleted the images from the SD card. Which of the many SD recovery apps out there is a good one?

I used one called Recoverit a couple of years to recover some files from a SD card for a friend. It worked fine. I had to subscribe for a year, but it didn’t cost much and was worth it.

I use Data Rescue II by Prosoft. Came with a SD card, yars ago. Did what
it should the few times I needed it.

I've used a number of these programs some are better than others but few
of the paid versions actually work better than the free ones.  Try
Photorec, if the card is simply erased, or even if the directory
structure is gone, if it can still be accessed by your OS it should work.

https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec#Operating_systems

It can be a bit confusing as there are two different packages that seem
to do exactly the same thing, just have different names.
