In the relatively warm Lowveld we get two crops of butterflies each year. The "winter" forms are generally darker (more suffused) in colour than the summer forms. Hordes of Peiridae (Whites) have appeared in the last couple of days. I caught some imbibing on Pointsettia flowers. Alan, that is a wonderful photo! The colors are spectacular (though one could dial back the red channel a bit to recover some detail in the red petals), the butterfly is tack-sharp, and the OOF background works well.
