SA announced it had reached 1M vaccinations last night. Only 58M +
several M illegal immigrants to go. Maybe 5M by the end of the year?
Heaven help the rest of Africa.

It beggars belief that there are still those who believe that Covid is a hoax, a
Government conspiracy or just a dose of flu.

Marg & I had our first AZ dose in March - second jab in a couple of weeks.

I had my first one in Feb, and the second a couple of weeks ago. It appears
that I caught it shortly after the first and spent many weeks either by the
open back door trying to breathe or in bed. I've now got a raft of problems
as a result and I can walk a mile again slowly. At one point is was a 20
minute sit down gasping for breath having gone as far as the front door.
Long Covid - I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Have the jabs!

The rich countries such as the UK need to be sharing more. It’s not just the morally correct thing to do, it’s also a matter of enlightened self-interest.

A dose of flu is nothing to, er, sneeze at when you get to a certain age.  And, yes, it's good to hear you are coming out the other side, Malcolm.  I hope progress continues.

Thanks, Ann, Brian, Dave, Mike & Stan,

I had the loss of taste for a while, nothing really foul tasting but really
only texture. The second Covid jab has helped a little I think, but it's
long term tiredness and lack of sleep that are the real issues. I have
follow up X-Rays, blood tests etc all planned out, so my social diary is
full.

I know someone locally who thinks (thought) the virus is all nonsense made
to scare the public, a view that changed when a relative died of it.

However, photography has been a help and a distraction, as it's got me out
and about, although I can't manage hills yet.

Thanks Dave, like I said it wasn't horrible, I barely knew I was sick
before the diagnosis, but knowing it could have killed me was a bit
sobering.

I didn't have any of the now classic symptoms, I was just immensely tired.

One of my doctors put me on a new Medication and had just increased the
dosage,  and being tired, was one of the possible side effects, so
didn't worry too much.

Then individual who exposed me, called to tell me they had tested positive.

So I got tested, and got the results back at the two week mark, just as
I was recovering and no longer contagious.
