It was also so dark you couldn't see anything. Yet it was still light
outside around here. Same time zone GMT -5.

I suppose they're a bit further South than you. So their days are
considerably shorter. Daylight there is currently from about 9.30 to
17.40 local time.

Should have been around 5:00pm local time so I wonder why they didn't
have any lights on at the station?

This is a tourist railway. They close around 16.00 local time.

You sure? The time below the webcame pic shows 14.48, right now. Here,
it's 19.48 - i.e. 5 hours later - and we're on CEST = UTC +2.

Snow in August?
Guess I'll have to search my library.  <G>

Yes - I didn't think that through when I programmed the theme for August.  Of
course, it is snowing in southern places :-)

Cheers

Yeah. I know it's winter down there & day-time gets shorter in the winter.
That's why I looked at the time zone map.

Should have been just about sunset or only slightly into the "golden hour" where
the landscape is still lit by the sky.

Should have been around 5:00pm local time so I wonder why they didn't

No security lights?

That's what the time zone map I looked up showed. ... as best as I could read it.

Hadn't noticed the time-stamp thingy. Looking just now it's 14:07 here and 15:07
there, so maybe they're on Atlantic Time (same as Newfoundland & Nova Scotia).

For once I have an entry. Y'all have probably seen it before since it's the only
good snow photo I've ever made.
