Thanks as always Brian! A good theme, a nice varied collection.
And thanks to Paul for the SW England/Cornish cottage in Wisconsin. My father-in-law was born in a cottage much like that in Cornwall, lived there for 1-2 years before the family immigrated in 1912 to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, iron mining country a few hundred miles north of Paul’s venue. I had not seen an example of that construction here in the US, brings back good memories of the visit  Meg and I made to visit Cornwall 40+ years ago.

Stan -

Thanks for the comments.  There are several of these cottages remaining
in Mineral Point as well as other buildings of that ere using similar
limestone construction.  The one pictured is called Pendarvis, has been
restored and is now owned by the Wisconsin Historical Society.  That
area in southwest Wisconsin has a thriving art community, with many of
the artists living in rural areas on the ridges and in the valleys.  A
good time to visit the area is the third weekend in October for the Fall
Art Tour.  You can enjoy the history of the area, the fall scenery and
visit artists in their native habitat.
