Good day all, yes i'm still here :-)

To add to me past and most recent heart issues (angina attacks, now fixed
with yet more stents) I now find myself with a right eye cataract that will
be dealt with later this summer, Im finding it impossible to focus wit my
right eye in the finder, but am trying to use my left eye which is a tough
transition so far, I,m also relying on the green focus light and beep.
Anyone else with this issue for tips ??

The best-of-all-halves has just had cataract eye surgeries for both eyes
within the last two months. No big deal, no complications whatsoever,
complete success. Have it treated as soon as you can.

My annual eye exam was supposed to be this coming Friday (15 May).

It was cancelled & rescheduled to 1 Aug, which I just now noticed is a
Saturday, so I'm going to have to double check on that

I don't think I have cataracts yet. There was no sign of them on my last
annual exam, but my myopia is getting much worse, especially for working
on the computer.

I think I'm going to have to get special computer glasses that are not
varifocal.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes. Simple and painless, and it improved my vision significantly.

Get dedicated computer glasses. Computer work with varifocals is about
the worst you can do to your neck muscles.

I have non-varifocals for computer and wear them most of the time.. I
don't need to see far away - I need magnifiers on top of the computer
glasses for reading small print on paper and
a flashlight sometimes..  My monitor is straight ahead.. with a 27"
monitor - I don't have a tablet .  But at 89 my neck hurts anyway :-(  I
need to learn some exercises

Thanks for all the comments, confirms what i thought. Provincial health care
will cover the exams and surgery and drops, but we also have an option to
upgrade the standard lens to a  "better one" at a cost of around $300 out
of pocket, which a number of friends said they did and was worth it,

There's been a lot of noise in the German press, last week, about eye
clinics that have asked for exorbitant prices for aspherical lenses
which are the accepted standard having replaced the old spherical lenses
years ago.
