“  The archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, has come under increased pressure after reports…”

So, Cotty, you have time to moonlight as archbishop?

Sorry Stan, late to this, just catching up.

Oddly enough I have met him, and yes the names are the same. I’ve always been a Steve to friends but the passport and driving license do have Stephen on them!

I filmed him once when he was the bishop of Oxford, nice chap and we did have a laugh over the name. He seems a decent bloke and clearly committed to his faith and the church.

As for the story, just the good old usual British sex scandals and you can interchange it with politics, industry, whatever. Appalling that it’s within the Church of England in this case and Archbishop Cottrell is implicated only by what he knew and when (I hope!) but nonetheless it’s disappointing and not entirely surprising. As an aetheist it doesn’t matter a dingo’s kidney to me, but where this sort of abuse has taken place it needs ratting out and justice done, period.
