Thanks Brian for posting another fine gallery! Sport: equals Venues, Participants, Supporters. All represented in this compact gallery. I particularly like Ann’s and Ralf’s take on the subject.

Someplace, maybe, I may still have a print of a shot I took in 1972 or 1973. (All of my negatives and most notebooks of prints were destroyed when our house was flooded in 2020.) My cousin was in nursing school, she got a weekend gig as a medical worker at the race track in Watkins Glen, NY. (Our “home town” race track.) My former wife and I spent the weekend at the Glen track, camping near the infamous bog, viewing and photographing a Can-Am race. My cousin provided us with Medical Personnel lanyards and passes which allowed us to go basically anyplace/anytime throughout the venue. The print I might find some day is a nice closeup of Mark Donohue (The Mark Donohue) standing by the pit lane, his 917 Porsche in the background. (There were  few groupies hanging around, short shorts, high heeled boots, of equal or greater interest to me as photo subjects. I have? one of those prints as well, someplace….)

That was a good weekend!  Of course any shots from that era that I might resurrect were done with a Nikkormat; my transition to Pentax didn’t come until 1981 or so.
