Those who know cars, are probably aware that 99 out of 100 Cobras one sees are replicas. This one is the real thing: a ‘64 without the bulging fenders and huge heavy engine of later models. Shot it today for Hagerty.

Very nice. Is that the original color?
I seem to remember you could have any color you wanted as long as it was
blue. 😉

Thanks. A fun shoot. Yep. Original color. But it’s one of one. A customer at Gotham Ford wanted a green Cobra but AC needed months to produce a green car, so Shelby America repainted a blue Cobra with a Lincoln metallic green. It’s the only Cobra with that color as original equipment..

Very cool.
A net.friend off the britcars list had a beater 289 that he was the second owner of. I saw him driving it one day in all of its aluminum and bondo glory. Like many project cars, it took him a while to finish the body work, fortunately, he didn't need to worry about rust, it being California and all. :-)

This one is a two owner car, never abused. I have to check the mileage before I write about it, but it’s very low.

Beautiful car - great shot. The dealer had one in the show room when I
purchased my Mustang in April 1964. My memory says it was BRG but it
may have been blue - it's a 59 year old memory.
