That's still a 'paywall' - you're paying by giving up your email address
to Disney's marketing arm, and consent for them to clutter your mailbox.

It's easily dealt with. Just set up a filter the first time they spam you.

And anyone who doesn't know the "true story" by now can read it on Wikipedia -
which doesn't have a paywall:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raising_the_Flag_on_Iwo_Jima

You can also find the story at CNN (also not paywalled):

https://www.cnn.com/2015/02/22/world/cnnphotos-iwo-jima/

After Rosenthal took his ICONIC photo he took a second photo, known as the "Gung
Ho" photo:

https://taskandpurpose.com/app/uploads/2020/11/ap_4502230131-1.jpg

When Rosenthal was later asked if the photo had been staged, this is the photo
Rosenthal thought of when he answered "yes".

There's even a photo OF Rosenthal taking the second photo:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Genaust#/media/File:Genaust-Rosenthal-Gung-Ho-photo-2-23-45.jpg

But Rosenthal DID NOT stage the flag raising photo, and he never claimed it was
a photo of the first flag being raised.
