Yes, its a big set, several hours of social dancing.  I put several of my favorites (Can you say FA 77 ltd?) up front.

I had the K1 set up on a tripod with the DFA 15-30, on a 10 second intervalometer, and just kept the ones I liked.  I thought that the low angle with the 15mm was fun.
If I do an intervalometer in the future, I'll try something else.

Most of the handheld photos were with the K-3 III, 16-50, sigma 35/1.4, FA 50/1.4, and FA 77.

There have been a few people in the tango community that lost their homes. The fires were each a bit over an hour drive away and I didn't know nearly as many people as I did in 2020 when my neighborhood burned down, or some of the other fires in Central and Northern Ca.

And, for those that are interested, a few photos of the performance

I suspected as much :-( as to the tango performance you link to below..
the first three shots are my favorites.. I think you shot those with
more deliberation to start with, yes?

My friend in Alpine got smoked by the border fire, but nothing more.. He
and his late wife moved to Alpine after part of there place in Pine
Valley burned.

They were actually shot pretty much at the end. They were just picked
with more deliberation.

For the first two songs I was struggling with the focus, with the AF
button set on focus rather than focus lock, I was stuck and couldn't get
the camera to take shots no matter what.

My friend in Alpine got smoked by the border fire, but nothing more..
He and his late wife moved to Alpine after part of there place in Pine

Yup, things have been pretty bad, and are going to get worse.
