We are OK, although the basement is flooded in our rental house, a few
miles away.  Widespread flooding in our area (Central NJ), however, and a
village along the Raritan River, about 3-4 miles away, was evacuated.  Lots
of fire and ambulance sirens this morning.  Many flooded streets;  cars
washed into the streams.  A house explosion in Somerville, about 5 miles
away.

Philadelphia was relatively spared yesterday. I watched the weather radar frequently, and we had only moderate rain while areas to the east and west of us got torrents.

We’re feeling the effects of the torrents to the west of us today, though. The Schuylkill River runs through the city and the rain to the north and west is way over flood stage, and it’s expected to continue rising through tomorrow. Many roads in and around the city are closed (including the main expressway through town), and many neighborhoods along the river flooded. The Delaware River is the city’s eastern boundary, and it is already at flood stage and is still rising.

OK here - in  our immediate area.. all dry again though it poured
allnight - all the noisy work that was being done outside my building
over the last few months is 95% done and it resulted in good drainage..
but many areas of NYC were hit hard - subway service shut down some
stations stairs were waterfalls

Dan is likely to have been more affected in his area

So far Raleigh has been spared the worst of it. The latest one passed north of
us, with possible thunderstorms predicted for yesterday afternoon, but all that
materialized was some light rain last night.
