Across the street from us us a park featuring a “bowl,” whose sides are good for sledding. It was very popular last weekend.

What a nice shot! .. I love the perspective.. the falling away of the
size of the people .. It has the tone of a 19th century painting

You haven't mentioned her lately. I hope she's doing well.

She's a teenager now isn't she? (IIRC, my niece is the same age, born in 2003
wasn't it?)

That photo ... I bet the sound (kids having fun) was wonderful. Nowadays I don't
get to hear enough of it.

We never got to do much sledding when I was young enough to enjoy it. And I
don't think the kids around here get much either.

We don't get enough snow that it would pack well enough to make a sledding area
on grass.

The city (Durham or Raleigh) did sometimes close off streets for sledding if we
got snow, and they would stay closed as long as the snow lasted (2 -3 days max),
but it wouldn't be long before there was only pavement again.

Thanks for asking.Grace is doing well. She’s 16 and has become an excellent artist. I will post some of her work when I have a minute. She moved to Texas with her mother several years ago. Broke my heart, but I always new she wouldn’t be here forever. I’m thankful for the 12 years we had, recorded in several thousand photos.
