Yesterday afternoon I looked off my back deck and saw a merganser land in the river. To my surprise, when I returned with the K-3/bigma he was still there.
He didn’t really like to be photographed, and the combination of distance and light made things a big challenging. I suppose that I could have tried a slower shutter speed. While they aren’t the best technically, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen another one in my yard, so that was kind of cool.

Thanks. My favorite was the last one, which Ann liked. It was supposed to be the first frame but flickr and lightroom had a spat and it ended up in another album altogether.
