Thanks, Dan  it certainly is.  Took ferries now and then out of
necessity . rural Northwest Canada  was as important to our adventures
as was Alaska
itself.

I recognized your style immediately when I looked at that image in the
PUG, Ann.  You have a talent for conveying the feel of rural Alaska.
It's a shame that most Americans only go to Alaska as far as the
cruise ship takes them.  It is such a compelling place.

Henk, thanks for that.. I expected there would have been more of the
type of shot you ,Bruce , Reinhard and I took - the looking down the
 road angle-
than there were  and which I like best.

The whole gallery is lovely, but the one that hit me hardest
 emotionally
 was Bruce's - because I know that road - from childhood..through
adulthood, no, maybe not that exact road, but it could be.

Thanks Dan for your comments.
Very amusing and interesting pictures this month.
I like in particular Paul's 'Lookout Studio' as well as the desolate
landscape of Ann's picture 'Into the Wild'.

Nice gallery, with lots of excellent images.  Thanks again for

 keeping the

momentum of the PUG, Brian!

In my view, the best image is Paul's "Lookout Studio."
The lighting is spectacular, and it well conveys the beauty of

 a place I

have visited and admired.  {Where's the road? <G>)

Among those that m ore diredctly reflect the theme of the month, my
favorite is Henk's "Bike on the Dike."  Beautiful scene and strong
composition.
I also really like "Sheep on the Road," by Reinhard Sy.  This

 image brings

back memories of similar roads -- and similar sheep -- in Ireland.
