Way things are going around here I don't think it's going to be a
problem. Copyright will have expired before I can afford a trip to Paris.

Well, you could always refer them to the response in "Arkell v Pressdram".

Just sayin.

Whether you said it in jest or not, the attitude behind the words is very
common among your people when they travel.
Now you are saying ignorance of the law is an acceptable reason to break
the law and that because you follow the rules sometimes its all good to
break them at other times.
I think that as an officer of the court you know better than that.

Oh, come on, Bill. Give me a break.
I took and published those images because there was no indication that it
was improper to do so. There are no signs at either the Eiffel Tower or
the Atomium stating that photographs are forbidden. They are more
than happy to accept Euros from us crass Americans. The images we take
home and show friends certainly promote their tourist industries. In three
decades of travelling, I have yet to run into a local who seemed to
resent Americans. While Americans often have a bad rap, in my
experience tourists from certain European countries are far louder and more
demanding than most Americans.
I always respect museums and religious sites when they limit photography,
as do almost all American tourists.
Besides all that, Larry's comment about my needing a good lawyer was said
i jest, as was my reply.
