There was a case here a year or two ago where one of our national track-racing champions had her custom-built bike stolen.

The publicity and the highly specialised nature of the bike made it impossible, and probably dangerous, to try and sell.  Whoever had taken it dumped it behind a bike shop and it was returned to its rightful owner.
