You know, Mary Lovell did a bio on Beryl Markham, which I read & attempts to 
set the record straight, among other things, about Markham's sex life & the 
authorship question on Markham's memoir "West with the Night", one of my 
ABSOLUTELY all time favorite books.  One of my favorite passages can be 
found on p. 40 in the trade paperback edition.  It's a passage on the many 
sounds of silence.  Do you know the book?  Cheers, Christine
