I believe the last release date I saw (someplace) was 12/07.

One report is that no more new lenses will be released this year. Pentax
has had problems manufacturing the two DA* lenses that already exist.
Maybe the 60-250 will be released in December, as planned. But Pentax
has publicly apologized (something they have been doing a lot lately)
for being unable to meet the demand for the DA* 16-50. There have been
reports of quality-control problems in some of the components. I suspect
that no more DA* lenses will be released until Pentax can meet the
demand for the DA* 16-50.
There are other QC problems. My first copy of the DA* 50-135 arrived
with a loose lens element, rattling around inside like a marble. To
their credit, Pentax USA replaced it for me after I posted a complaint
on dpreview. And, yes, Pentax USA knew that this lens is sold in North
America.
