True, subjectivity certainly enters into whether any particular image
appeals to us personally or not.
subjectivity: judgment based on individual personal impressions and feelings
and opinions rather than external facts
However, looking at an image with objectivity attempts to determine if it
has merit outside of our subjective vision.
objectivity: judgment based on observable phenomena and uninfluenced by
emotions or personal prejudices
One's own subjectivity is the bane of photographers that are trying to excel
and have widespread appeal, whereas objectivity helps them achieve it.
