I was up last Saturday at Napa for a non-photography reason. Very white sky
day, overcast and foggy and drizzly. I prefer to keep my equipment dry, but
on the way out of town the rain stopped for a while. So I pulled over down a
private road toward a vineyard and took some shots. I didn't go any closer to
things because there were quite a few no trespassing signs posted. The vines
themselves were all empty, no vines, just posts waiting for vines.
I sort of liked this, however. I like how in farm country you will see a
line of trees and it will not only be a line of trees, but trees, a road, and
farm houses (and barns). I suppose in farm country they do that to save
building on cultivable land -- to keep the land clear as much as possible.
I wasn't sure this was worth it so I showed it to Bruce Dayton first, and he
suggested I crop it like a pano and convert it to B&W, and do a few other
things. Which I have done. Since it's a bigger file than I show normally, it
may take a bit longer to load. I also didn't add any extra sharpening because I
didn't feel it needed it.

Still not sure if it is worth it, so I'd appreciate reactions.
Technical Info: DS, A 35-105, 1/180, f/8, 400 ISO.
I must admit it's fun to be able now to throw up technical info. -- this
photo is among the first group of shots that I have shot with the DS (and the A
35-105).
