I looked carefully at the E-330 as well when I got interested in
these Live View cameras. I didn't find that the flip out LCD added
much for my needs, nor is the L1's AF operation in Live View mode a
problem for me (it does AF, it just has to flip-flap the mirror
around to do it which makes it a little slow). The L1 has a nice
function (enhanced with fw 2.0) to allow the LCD to be more clearly
seen in overhead and waist level positions without needing the
complication of mechanical articulation ... It's not quite as good on
viewing, but proves perfectly adequate for my needs.
Tests in Amateur Photographer comparing the L1 against the E330
showed the L1 has a noticeable advantage in dynamic range, which is
much more important to me. And of course there's the Vario-Elmarit
14-50 lens, a stunning performer in every way. The Oly 11-22 mm is
also superb.
