I didn't take the time to do any research, so obviously not exactly the same
chip could be used. However it would seem that the basic pieces are there,
even assuming a smaller chip, to turn out a high end body with higher
resolution and possibly lower noise.
In any case, a high-end 35mm form factor body at high yet relatively
affordable prices would likely have a bigger market than the 645D ever
would.
