PESO Plant Name Query

Hi Everyone:

Does anyone know the name of this plant?  A friend said maybe of the 
Milkweed family.  Is it?

Also, comments & critique welcome, especially on cropping.  I'd like to 
feature  the wispy things on the right.

K10D, DA* 50 - 135, at f/something or other, exposed for just a bit.
