Also worth noting that looking down a lens straight at the arc can
damage your sight, possibly permanently. Never look straight at the
point of the welding . EVF's are fine.
I did plenty of welding when I built an offroad racer in the 1990s -
all sorts of odd things happen. I remember a stubborn bolt that need
some persuasion to leave its mooring, and when it dropped onto the floor
it disappeared. I later found it melted into the base of my boots.
Pulled it out, leaving a perfect imprint. Still there too. A trophy :-)
