OT: CPU question

For Photo usage, I'd say buy RAM first.

Then, if you still have some money to spend on it, buy more RAM again.

Finally, think about getting a new CPU.

I've a 1.5 GB machine with an AMD Athlon XP 64, and yes, PS goes faster 
than on most P4s I've seen with 1 GB or less.
